Merry Christmas and welcome to my new look blog!! I hope you like the theme! I was going to change the colour but then realised it was Christmas and the red suited quite well. Look out for the new colour scheme in the new year once all the festivities are over and done with.

I am currently sitting at my sisters house with the family around me, my sisters three kids obviously taking all the attention of the family!  A roaring fire in the corner, lots of chocolates and alcohol being eaten and drank all day long! So really this is the perfect time to write this, everyone distracted, my dad asleep after lunch about to start snoring and my mum watching the video from the kid’s nativity play! Here is my Niece sitting by the fire looking all Christmassy!

There is something about the Christmas period that brings out the best and worst in people, especially when we have snow at Christmas (yes this is quite rare for us here in rainy UK).  We get the fools out on the roads trying and failing to maneuver around the icy roads and the comedic value of people falling over just before you fall over yourself! Then we get the camaraderie of everyone helping each other through the snow and cold. I was waiting for the bus the other day and a girl didn’t want to drive up an icy hill on her own, so she asked me to ride in her car with her to help her up the hill. I’m not sure what she expected me to do from the passenger seat but she ended up driving me all the way to the fish mongers where I wanted to go! Gotta love the festive spirit.

so I’d better get on with the main content of this post now. It’s the end of the year and traditionally this is the time of year to take stock of everything you have or have not achieved and set plans for the upcoming year.  So here goes!

2010 was a very good year for me in general, I went to my first Internet Marketing seminar and met my now mentor Alex Jeffreys. I worked on my first product launch even though it wasn’t my product. I started this blog and a few other websites that are fully ready for me to drive traffic to and have really been getting out there starting to build a community around this blog and also meeting a lot of new people from the industry. I have to say there are some really friendly people out there amongst all the scammers and zombies.

However there were some things I did wrong and didn’t do at all so I need to fix these things for next year.  The main thing is procrastination, I am still a sucker for it sometimes but it has definitely got better.  I need to set my self some reasonable goals for the year and was thinking of using the MTO goals system, those of you that don’t know what these are really need to look into them! MTO stands for Minimum, Target and Outrageous. So for every goal you have, set 3 levels. This way you will always achieve your goals and feel like you are progressing even if it is at your minimum rate, you are still getting somewhere.

So I am going to create my first product this year, not sure what subject to create it around yet but I have some good planning advice, anything you want me to write about though, just put it in the comments box below. I am doing a kind of test run for Stephanie Mulac’s giveaway even in January, so I am not exactly relaxing over the holiday period, ah well! If you want to join in this giveaway then head over to this link.

The upgrades aren’t particularly cheap at $27 and $97 respectively but they are worth it in my opinion, free giveaways just don’t seem to work as well. At the end of the day you get what you pay for.

I hope this post wasn’t too boring for you all, normal service will be resumed next week although I’m not sure whether it will be before or after the new year but if you are subscribed to my RSS feed then you will find out when it goes live!

Thanks for reading

Simon
