I’m afraid I have a confession to make…

I have not been doing my daily to do sheets, did sheets and keeping a journal has completely escaped me. I have just looked back at the past two weeks and have realised I have hardly done any work on my business. It is not a good feeling!

From today I am going to discipline myself a lot more. I will be planning the next day every evening and writing down everything I have done during the day.

In Module 1 of Alex’s coaching we were told of the importance of planning everything but back then I didn’t really know where I was heading so I didn’t feel like I could plan. I now have a good idea of where I want to be and how I want to get there so I can start my main business plan.

I have also learned so much since starting the coaching that I know most of the steps I have to take to get to where I want to be. This means I can make a very detailed plan and start seeing exactly what I need to do and when to stay on target.

These past couple of weeks have helped me to see what my sticking points are though. From what I have read online a lot of people have the exact same ones as me so I will write a list of them here and as I get round them I can pass that information on to you, my wonderful readers.

So here goes for the list, I would like to thank James Radley for the inspiration for parts of this list;

  • Time wasting/Procrastinating – PS3, Facebook, I have deleted Stumble Upon!!
  • Lack of Goals – I wanted to make money, now I want a business that provides value
  • Never had the “Big Picture” – I had all the pieces of the puzzle but no overview
  • No Planning – This was a killer for me, I would always rush headlong with no plan
  • Checking Emails – I now only turn on my email client twice a day!
  • Thinking I can do everything myself – wasted so much time trying to learn things I can outsource!
  • Being LAZY! – I think everyone can relate to this!
  • Information Overload – Downloading everything and starting it but never following it through to the end so never know if it actually works!
  • Doing half baked niche research then leaving the niche when nothing happens after a week! The same thing applies to that latest big products!
  • Lack of focus for tasks that need completing, I can always find a distraction generally ‘one quick race on the PS3′ turning into all night and no progress in the game or on my business!!
  • Not having a mentor, I should have got one last year when I first knew I couldn’t do it alone but I thought I could learn everything.
  • I haven’t been building a list!!!!

I’m sure I’ll add to this list as time goes by but realising these sticking points at this stage will really help me build myself and my business a lot quicker. The first step is always the same, if you recognise your problems it is easy to fix them (courtesy of Alcoholics Anonymous).
