Why I started Online Marketing
Hi there,
I started online marketing about 2 years ago in 2008, back then I was self employed and life wasn’t too bad. My only problem was that I didn’t always have enough work to get by. I then started looking into Internet Marketing as a possible solution to keeping my income at a sustainable level. This didn’t work out for me at first though and like so many other people I bought a few products and setup a few sites and made absolutely nothing!!!
I put it all on the back burner for a while as I got offered a job at a TV company, the industry I was in at the time seemed to be slowing down a lot due to the recession and I decided that the tv company would be a safe option through these tough times. The good and bad thing about this job is it’s shift work. It allows me a lot of time off but I have to work long shifts and nights!
The time off allowed me to start to work on my online marketing and I went back to my old sites to see what I could do to them with fresh eyes. I ended up changing them all completely and getting some new ones all trying to follow different strategies I had learned and none of them produced results again!!
I went to George Browns Seminar in London in June 2010 after finishing 5 night shifts. No sleep after the last shift and straight into the seminar! The first two days I learned some more really good information but more importantly on the first night I was watching the England game with Alex Jeffreys, Jani G, Minesh Bhindi, Dan Briffa & Dean Holland. Fun times indeed! On the third day of the seminar I spent the afternoon in the pub with Alex, Dean, Dan and my friend Glen Kirkham. I didn’t really know who Alex Jeffreys was then but we had a good laugh for those few days! After the event I did some research and read a couple of his eBooks and then Dan Briffa sent me a link to his coaching program. I thought, well I might as well have a look!
The introduction/sales webinar was AMAZING!! I learned so much that I was sold!! I booked my place on his program. I am now following through Marketing With Alex 4.0 and am essentially starting from scratch again. The information in the first module was amazing, all about the planning and structure of a successful online business. I had never thought about this before really and had just been looking at it as a kind of hobby that could make me money! Now I have a plan and a structure and I can see exactly what I am building and where I am heading to.
I can’t wait to be making this happen now and I hope I can give you some valuable information on my journey to help you in your own business venture.

Hi Simon, first of all I want to say welcome to the Traffic Generation club Facebook page. Boy, that was a mouthful. Its really growing fast and I am trying to work out just how we can get a blog roll up on there. It would make it so much easier to click onto each others sites. I may even have to move it all across to a seperate blog.
Secondly well done for joining Alex Jeffreys coaching course. I was on the first course that he ran. Like you I floundered around buying into this and that. Mostly never following through. Alex teaches a no holds barred and organised way of doing things. It helped me a lot.
So much so, that I moved from the UK a few months ago to the south of France, where I operate my business with beautiful views of the mountains.
Good luck with your online success and I will stay in touch.
Andy
Thanks for commenting! I’m very jealous of your southern France living! I can’t wait to get out there myself! I have so many friends out there and every time I go there I just love it and don’t want to come home!!!
Here’s to both ouf our coninuing successes!
