My Business Review of 2010
So my last post didn’t really have any details of what I have learned in 2010 nor any specific goals for 2011 so I thought I would write a new post detailing these things. Here goes!
Business Achievements 2010
Number 1 on this list has to be joining Alex Jeffrey’s training program. This has to be the best decision I have made for my business EVER! I have learned so much from him and his past students it’s unreal! If he ever opens up another training program I suggest you sell a kidney to get on it!
Number 2 I would say is starting this blog. This has really been a great experience for me so far. I feel like this is the center of my business and everything else is like arms and legs hanging off it. I enjoy writing here and I hope I am providing you with value whenever I do.
Number 3 for me would be finally getting a subscriber to my email list! It pretty much made my day when I checked my email and found that there was a new subscriber that wasn’t my Mum! It all starts with the first subscriber.
Number 4 would have to be going to George Brown’s seminar earlier in the year. This is when I met Alex Jeffreys for the first time along with some other successful internet marketers. I realised then that this is what I wanted to do and that it was definitely possible!
Number 5 and the final one for this part of the list is helping my friend Glen Kirkham with his product launch in November. Going through that process certainly taught me a lot about what is involved with a launch and what can go wrong.
Thanks to these 5 things my business is so much further ahead than it was 1 year ago. I am actually quite embarrassed about my previous websites and what I was doing with them before! Thankfully things have changed now and I am on the right track to having a successful online business, hey at least I am doing it honestly! I could have probably already made a lot of money if I had listened to some of the less than ethical people out there but I made a decision that if I was going to have my own business I wanted to do it right. No scams, no get rich quick schemes just me learning the principles of online marketing and then applying them as well as teaching others as I learn.
So here are my goals for 2011, if the goal can use it I have used the MTO (Minimum, Target, Optimistic) system.
Business Goals 2011
1. Replace my offline income with my online income and quit my job
2. Have an email subscriber list of 2,000/5,000/10,000 warm prospects
3. Teach at least 1/3/10 person to make a profit in their online business
4. Create 1/2/5 iPhone/iPad app
5. Hire 1/2/3 full time VA
Personal Goals
1. Finish restoring my car. Click here for more info on this.
2. Go karting 6/12/20 times in the year for competetive events
3. Visit friends in USA
4. Live a healthier lifestyle ( I know this is vague but there are so many things I want to change here I thought I would sum them up for the purpose of this post.
5. Design the next Tesla Coil and start to build it. Click here for more info on this!
I hope these have given you some ideas for your own goals for 2011, if you need any help achieving them then feel free to ask me and I will do my best to help you out. If I don’t already know how to do it I will find out and then teach you so send those questions over! You can leave them in the comment box or send me a message via facebook or twitter.
Happy New Year, here’s to making it the best yet!

What’s up, Simon!
Fantastic post, mate. These type of posts are the best. I bet it was challenging yet fulfilling to write.
I’m interested in hearing about your experience with the product launch. Maybe a topic for another blog post?
I appreciate that you’ve limited your goal lists to 5 business and 5 personal. I’ve found personally that with a lack of focus comes lack of progress… because I often feel overwhelmed.
I’ve read a lot about this point in books like Leo Babauta’s “The Power of Less”. Focus wins every time. Kudos, and good luck with your goal list.
I’ll be publishing my 2011 goals in the next few days. One thing I’m still noodling on, is how to work the INPUTS into my goal list.
I found that in 2010, a lot of my goals were OUTPUTS, or RESULTS. And because I wasn’t clear on the work that I would need to do, daily/weekly/monthly for that task, I ended up procrastinating on a number of important tasks, and then trying to rush them to completion in December! ha ha.
So I’m considering listing the inputs necessary, on my goal list.
-ex-
“Write 1 short kids story every weekday”,
instead of
“Publish 3 kids books in 2011″
If I do the inputs, the output will happen.
Anyway, there are many ways to approach goal setting and goal getting. The “goal” (bad pun intended) is to pic one way, and use it. Not, to find the holy grail perfect solution for goal setting.
All right – I’m out. LATER!

It is true about the results orientated goals, I find if you set your long term goals but then break them down into monthly and weekly plans your inputs end up defining themselves. If you only have a few major goals for the year these inputs will show themselves quickly.
I am still not really happy with my goals list and really need to sit down and plan 2011 properly. However with Stephanie’s giveaway that I need to sort gifts out for and all the training on top of developing my first iPhone app timing is everything! I can already see that 2011 is going to be the busiest year yet and I am really looking forward to that!
Heres to a great year.
Beneficial info and excellent design you got here! I want to thank you for sharing your ideas and putting the time into the stuff you publish! Great work!
Hey Simon,
Got to agree and say that joining the FTM program with Alex has been the best business decision made. I like your enthusiasm and wish you all the best in 2011. May you reach all your goals and see success in the future.

Thanks for stopping by Kerry,
I’m glad you are enjoying FTM as much as me, the forum is such a massive addition to all the live training isn’t it? I hope we can both have a lot of success with it this year!
Thanks again
Simon
