I thought I would give you a bit of feedback on my experience of writing my first book. first off I wouldn’t have even started it if it wasn’t for the help of my mentor Alex Jeffreys and the writing god that is Gary Simpson! Without their continued support and a** kicking I would still be deciding what to write my book about! Now I have my first one finished and am coming up with ideas for loads more in the future!

So how did I start writing? Well I originally started to write a book about list building but then found that there were already some people with list building books in the SI5 giveaway so changed to the fundamentals of online business creation and so Build Your Business, Build Yourself was born! I started by laying out all the fundamentals I wanted to cover including the things I didn’t know about in an early draft of a contents page. From this list of topics I was able to start writing about my experiences in each area and what I have learned over the years.

I then set about looking at the topics that I didn’t have much experience with and started my research. I soon had all the fundamentals of my book written down in some sort of an order. I then went through and set out the order so it flowed better from chapter to chapter as well as adding a lot more content. I was also removing some superfluous content as well to keep the book streamlined, I hope I achieved this although I am still revising it every now and then!

Once I had all the written content in place and edited I set about creating some diagrams. I was originally going to have a lot of diagrams in this book but once I had all the written content I found I didn’t need as many as I thought I would! All in all my diagrams took me about an hour from start to finish but I would still like to add some more.
