National Achievers Congress – My Date With Destiny!
Well it may now seem like all I do is attend seminars but this was one not to be missed! How can you turn down tickets to see Tony Robbins, Lord Alan Sugar AND Sir Richard Branson! I knew that this was something worth sitting through the sales pitches to see.
Let me set the scene; I finished a 14 hour night shift at 8am on Saturday and took the 1 hour journey accross London to the Excel Exhibition center in time to register and grab a seat for 4 hours of Tony Robbins doing his stuff! Having seen pretty much all of his free content online I knew what to expect but I thought the reserved nature of us Brits may change the response of the crowd.
How wrong I was!!
Nearly 10,000 people were engrossed, shouting, dancing and generally jumping around like mad things (me included). Absolutely amazing crowd control! I have not seen that in person before and it truly was an amazing sight to see. The energy in that room was electric, everyone was buzzing and you could really feel the potential of the audience. I was a bit disappointed that I had heard all the material before but it was still amazing to be in the room with him doing it live, you just get something more than when you are watching the videos at home!
So I guess I better give you some of the great points he brought up during the 4 hours…
The Three Mandates of Leadership:
1. See things as they are but not worse.
2. Anticipation is the ultimate power
3. See it better than it is or you have no future
4. Make it the way you see it
OK so let me break these down a bit. When you see things as they are but not worse you are in a state of potential and not thinking of the worst outcome. This then enables you to see where you can take things moving forward rather than looking at what will be holding you back.
When explaining about anticipation being the greatest power, Tony gave us the story of playing a child at a video game and why they usually beat us. It also ties into the first point as well, When a child asks us to play a computer game, we usually don’t really want to but do so just to please them and therefore we are thinking that we wont be any good at it.
This is immediately a bad STATE to be in as you are setting up limiting beliefs. The most of the time you will find the child gives you the control to play the game first. You last about 10 seconds before dying! Hand over the control to the child and they then go through 3 levels lasting 10 minutes before it’s your go again.
This time you think you have got the idea after watching the child play, and go in with more confidence and die after 30 seconds!
Whats the difference?
Well the second time you managed to get further because of a less limiting belief but you were still missing something…
ANTICIPATION:
The child will have been playing this game before for who knows how long! They know that when they start there is a bad guy up on the right and then another one behind you before you duck round the corner and get the next one hiding behind the car. He goes into the level knowing what he is being faced with so he can anticipate their moves and get through to the next stage.
To see things better than they are is to sow the seed of potential into your mind and get your business or life moving in a positive direction. If you can’t see this then how can you expect to grow and move forward as an individual or a business.
Then finally once you have seen things better than they are it is time to make it the way you see it. Act as if you are already there and you will get there with positive action. Spend some time with your mind each day to see where you can move forward.
I think that about covers enough here for Tony Robbins…
The rest of my weekend was pretty much spent networking (drinking) and catching up with old friends. These events are always a great place to meet like minded people and form new business relationships. I now have another 3 seminars I should be attending and a few potential JV partners lined up so things have definitely moved forward from the weekend.
I would love to give you a breakdown of every speaker here but it would turn into a novel so maybe another time
I will leave you with the 3 steps to wealth before some closing comments from Tony Robbins
The 3 Steps to Wealth:
1. What are your reasons for wealth?
2. What is your Cause/ Higher Purpose?
3. Mentors: Who are you Learning from?
Without these three you will struggle to become wealthy so write them down and work out your three steps to wealth and write them in the comments below. Here are mine;
My reason for wealth is to become an amateur racing driver which is very expensive!
My Higher purpose is to be able to give back to my family and friends whenever I fel like it as well as being able to teach people what I know and learn
My mentors at the moment are Alex Jeffreys and Andy Shaw (remotely) Alex has been training me in online marketing and Andy has been working on my mind via his books and the meetings we have at events.
So please feel free to share your 3 steps below and I will leave you with two sentences from Tony Robbins:
REIGNITE YOUR ENERGY!!!!
Get Laser-Focused, Make it Clear and Compelling
Just in closing I am now having people ask me for photos with them!! I had a few at the weekend and just received this one from Ian Wicks and Richard Reed
These guys are definitely ones to watch! Constantly taking action and working towards their goals! Yes the sunglasses were necessary!
See you at the top
