So 2013 is well under way now, we have got past the most miserable day of the year (statistically the 2nd Monday of the new year) so it can only get better from here!

So now we are past that point what are you going to do to make sure you have a cracking 2013?

Are you going to finally start that small business of your own and try to quit your full time job that you hate or are you just going to carry on living life for the weekend where you have a two day escape?

Would you like to have control of your future or do you want to still be answering to your boss this time next year? I have been very lucky as all of my bosses in the past were pretty cool but I knew that if I wanted the freedom I craved so much I would have to get my own business making me money so I started searching for the myth of making money online.

It took me a few years but then I found out it wasn’t a myth and i started to make the cash! All I had really done was get a mentor and follow his advice which was to build a blog (this one) and tell my story. Get a following to that blog and find out what they want. Then create a product teaching my followers what they had told me they wanted!

The other major point I learned (why do I always want to type learnt) back in those early days is YOU MUST BUILD A MAILING LIST!!!! This is something I dropped the ball on last year and as a result my list died off to the extent I deleted nearly 1,000 subscribers that hadn’t opened an email in nearly a year at the beginning of this year! So now I have been working on some major list building again with a new product I created about how I do my list building! You can grab that by clicking here.

2012 was full of challenges for me in so many ways and I made a lot of mistakes, the main one was letting my own business slip while I was working with other people. However I am very grateful of the lessons I learned throughout the year. They have given me some valuable experience to move forward with and I know I can use those lessons to build my business back up to an even greater level than it was before!

So What Are My Main Focus Points For This Year?

So if you have been a follower of mine for any amount of time you will know that I like to keep myself busy with multiple projects and multiple business partners. Some people say this is a bad idea other say it is a good idea. I just know that if I work on multiple projects I don’t get bored. I like to be able to jump between my projects as the mood suits me but I also love to get deep in the trenches of one project and get loads of work done in a short space of time before taking a break by moving into another one. So here is a rough breakdown of what I am working on so far this year. There are a few projects in the pipeline that I cannot talk about yet but I will talk about the top 4 projects at the moment.

#1 Blogging

This project is a lot more than just me posting to this blog. I also have a few other blogs in niches that I enjoy talking about that are slowly being built up by myself so they can get to page 1 on Google and start generating an income proving you don’t have to teach people how to make money online to be able to make money online! There is a massive project underway at the moment that will talk a lot about this and show people how they can start blogging and making money from it. We will be including actual advice that we use day to day in our business rather than just us sitting on a beach in Costa Rica talking about how you can get your friends to join and make money from them! (mentioning no names)

#2 Membership & Continuity Sites

Last year I built a number of membership sites for people and businesses and they have gone on to get thousands of members between them and I have kind of missed out on it. I knew I should have been building continuity into my business last year but again I dropped the ball! This year that is changing. I have a project coming out VERY soon that teaches the mechanics of setting up, running and marketing a membership site. I have advised people on this for the past year or so and now I am implementing it and teaching it to others on a wider scale. I will still be offering my services of building sites for people but as my time is becoming more limited my prices are rising all the time so tasks that I used to charge $300 for are now closer to $600!

#3 List Building, List Building & List Building!

I REALLY made a big mistake last year when I took my eye off my list. I got too focused on my other projects and ended up basically destroying my list. That is not the case any more. I have been aggressively building a brand new list with my brand new list building product using adswaps. I used to believe adswaps had died as there was so much rehashed junk being thrown around the community the list members were just getting sick of the content. I know this because I used to be on a lot of those adswappers lists. Now I have found some new groups of adswappers that actually understand the value of their subscribers so they don’t just peddle crap to them! So they are my main projects for the first part of this year but as I said above there are a lot of other projects on the horizon that I cannot talk about yet so you will just have to keep checking back for updates!
